English Language Unit Highlights 21st-Century Skills in "Language Limelight" Scrapbook Showcase

LABUAN, 3 November 2025 – The English Language Unit held a closing ceremony at Dewan Kuliah 3 to conclude its Academic Excellence Programme, "Language Limelight: Page by Page." The Head of the English Language Unit, Mr. Atlas Besik Niyo, attended to present prizes to the winners. The event, coordinated by Madam Dayang Jauyah binti Yunus, marked the successful completion of the unit's recent initiative.
The programme itself was a scrapbook showcase that ran from 27 October, developed to enhance students' integrated language proficiency and key 21st-century skills.
The competition required participants to create and present a scrapbook, a task designed to test writing, speaking, grammar, and vocabulary. The primary objectives were to train students in gathering and logically organizing research materials in English and to effectively convey ideas through a compelling synthesis of concise text and visual elements.

The programme saw wide participation, with 689 students from the Sains Sistem Empat Semester (SES) course collaborating in small groups. From the initial submissions, nine finalist groups were selected to present their work to a panel of lecturers at the Menara Pentadbiran's Little Oxford Corner.

Following the final presentations, three groups were selected as the winners, and all nine finalist groups were awarded certificates of participation. The event was noted as a success, providing a practical and holistic platform for students to strengthen interconnected skills in research, organization, and persuasive communication.
